To say the last few months have been difficult would be quite an understatement. From trips with the horses to events in South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and even across the border to Montreal. Then almost the entire month of May I was away from home outside of Philadelphia with my wife and the horses, working 7 days a week and 10, 11, 12+ hours everyday.

I'd never really had a pet before. And truth be told, when my wife rescued her, literally off a porch, I never could have imagined that she would end up always attached to my side.
But there she was following me everywhere. Riding on the tractor with me ended up being one of her favorite things.
This was her spot, much like Sheldon Cooper had his, tucking right in behind my knees on the couch every day.
Captain giving her a morning hello.
The 4:30 daily nap was absolutely essential for us to make it through the day.
She would always follow me up the stairs to the studio whenever I did any hobby stuff and would always be right at my feet, asleep, under the paint desk while I was working. Knowing that she isn't ever going to be there is probably the biggest reason for the blog being so quiet in June. I've just not been motivated to go up to the studio and paint, as the emptiness has been overwhelming. I finally understand when people say pets are like family.
And thus why my wife really pushed me to go to Historicon this year, even though I'd be going solo as Jakob is away at school for the summer. So I'm really looking forward to seeing some old friends again - Miles, David and Kalissa, Joe and John and the rest of the Scrum Clubbers, Dave, Del, and then new friends Beau and Chris - to help get me motivated again and get back on the 'ol hobby horse (we really needed that joke to lighten the mood 😃).
Apologies to all for the personal post, and I promise the next several posts will just be nothing but photo dumps of games and tables at Historicon :)
